The staff is exceptional, top-tier Hibachi performance. The drink waiters were also great. We had 16 people in our group, and no issues or mistakes, and everyone had a great time. My only note on the food is: watch the consistency. The performance, as I said, was exceptional. I got the Mahi Mahi/Chicken combo. The Mahi Mahi was good, the chicken was meh. Someone else got chicken and really liked it. Another member of my party got the shrimp and lobster, and really liked the lobster but did not care for the shrimp (they usually like shrimp). I thought the shrimp was fine. My fried rice and salad and soup were all delicious and the proper temperature. The Japanese Kiss I ordered was also great. The Edamame was tasty. Since it was largely positive on the food, I'm giving 5 stars over all, but 4 on the food just as a note to the restaurant watch for consistency on quality.

Edit:Kyoto Hibachi used to be one of our absolute favorite hibachi spots, and we have enjoyed coming here many times in the past. Unfortunately, our most recent experience left us feeling very disappointed. When it came time to accommodate our food allergies—specifically both shellfish and gluten—the demeanor of the staff noticeably changed. What should have been a simple conversation about safely accommodating dietary restrictions became an uncomfortable situation. Instead of feeling welcomed and reassured, we felt like our allergies were an inconvenience. We completely understand that restaurants may have limitations when dealing with serious allergies and cross-contamination, especially in a hibachi setting. However, the way the situation is communicated and handled makes a huge difference. Unfortunately, the uncomfortable change in attitude from the staff took away from what we expected to be an enjoyable dining experience. It is disappointing because Kyoto Hibachi was once one of our go-to favorites. My new go-to spot for celebrating any occasion! The sashimi was incredibly fresh, the oysters were absolutely delicious 🤤, and the hibachi was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Everything we tried was amazing — can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I are foodies, Sushi being our favorite. We finally tried this place and it was delicious. Ordered several different rolls and dishes to share, and everything was super fresh and full of flavor. You can always tell when the ingredients are high quality, and this place nailed it. The service was also fantastic, friendly, attentive, and quick. Considering everything we received, the price was very reasonable. Such a great date night spot. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Kyoto Hibachi Sushi & Bar in McKinney was a great experience from start to finish. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi, and while the grill master was a bit low-energy, the execution was still on point. The food came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor, which honestly matters most. Parking is mostly on the side of the restaurant, many of the front spots looked reserved or unavailable, so don’t let that throw you off. Inside, the restaurant is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of tables, booths, and a bar area, making it great for groups, date nights, or casual dining. It doesn’t feel cramped like some hibachi spots can. Now let’s talk about the staff, because they were the real stars of the show. Everyone was warm, welcoming, friendly, and very attentive, which instantly elevated the experience. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. The drinks were excellent.
